In southern Madagascar, a climate-change-linked drought threatens to push half a million people into famine, even though few even own cars. “These people contributed zero to climate change,” Lola Castro, the World Food Program’s regional director for southern Africa, told Today’s WorldView in June of those worst affected. (Despite numerous public calls for help, experts on the ground say the situation in Madagascar remains dire.)
